Budapest is divided into two sides, which were once separate communities, by the Danube. On the Buda side are Castle Hill, with tourist sights like the Liberty Statue, the Royal Palace complex, Matthias Church and the Fisherman's Bastion, which offers a great view of Pest across the River. Cross the beautiful Chain Bridge to the Pest side and you'll see the landmark Parliament building, which is surrounded by a busy waterfront, home to Budapest's luxury hotels. Leading away from here along Andrassy Ut is the Basilica of Saint Stephen, after which you come to Heroes' Square. You'll find bars in this fashionable area. For a taste of Budapest's Turkish past, visit the Szechenyi baths in the City Park of Varosliget.
